Southampton Travel Update

March 2, 2018

Southampton City Council are gritting priority one routes and will monitor weather forecast and conditions to determine if further gritting is needed. Priority routes have been established  which are the main access routes for the city and, if it snows, the attention will be on keeping these roads passable. For real-time information on road conditions if it snows, please follow @scchighways on Twitter for live updates.

Both Bluestar, Unilink and First are now operating buses along the main roads in Southampton, with the current exception of Bluestar 17. Many outlying districts such as Townhill Park and around the General Hospital are starting to see buses reintroduced. Both Bluestar and First are accepting each other's tickets to help people get around the City. Destinations further afield are still affected and would suggest that customers refer to the bus operator Facebook or Twitter feeds for the latest information. Xelabus X11 is still suspended, while the X4 is running. Overall, the picture is improving as the day progresses, and the roads become easier to navigate.
